Monica Endorses Hillary?

The bogus “news” item was first published in April 2015 as the 2016 election cycle was just beginning to take center stage. It was posted by National Report, a popular “satire” website which produces outlandish fake news items with viral sharing in mind. The site occasionally posts a disclaimer noting that its contents are not real.

In the fake article we read:

Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who was made famous after having “sexual relations” with then-President Bill Clinton in the Oval Office, said on Sunday that she’s “officially endorsing” Hillary Clinton in her bid to win the presidency in 2016, just two hours after Clinton announced her candidacy.

Lewinsky has been asked about her thoughts on Clinton’s campaign, and as of this May 2016 writing she has remained evasive.

In September 2015, in an interview with Good Morning America, she stated of Clinton’s candidacy, “I think its really wonderful that we have women from both parties running for higher office. However it may affect me personally is not something I’m going to talk about today.”

Earlier in 2015, TMZ caught Lewinsky leaving a party at the Chateau Marmont and asked her if she would vote for Hillary. She didn’t answer.

The story that claims Monica Lewinsky has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president is fake. It comes from the “satire” (aka fake news) website National Report. Lewinsky has thus far avoided the topic when asked about Clinton’s candidacy.
